Op-amp gain

Inverting, non-inverting, and ideal differential. Change the resistors — closed-loop Av in V/V and dB updates as you type. Optional Vin → Vout.

How it works

Ideal op-amp, infinite open-loop gain, resistors only. Inverting: Av = −Rf / Rin (signal into Rin, feedback Rf). Non-inverting: Av = 1 + Rf / Rg (gain set from the grounded leg Rg). Differential (balanced): Av = Rf / Rin when the two input legs and two feedback legs match.

Gain in decibels uses the voltage ratio: Av_dB = 20·log₁₀(|Av|). Optional Vin multiplies by Av for a quick Vout check (ideal, no rails or slew).

Pair with Voltage divider for passive attenuators, dB / dBm for ratio math, or Series & parallel to pick Rf / Rin. Back to the electronics bench.
